I have a Nokia N95. (1)GB chip. I put a personal pass code in my phone (4) months ago and I have forgot what it is.
I do not believe it is the sim code password but a personal password i made up and have inputed tried 20 different variations already (I heard the phone goes to security/mode after (3) wrong tries to protect the memory chip data from being accessed.
For some reason the Nokia phone never me asked for it since I first entered it (4) months ago. Then for whatever brilliant reason, I switched the images and video I had taken (many are important to me) to be saved to the memory chip from the phone memory.
After that my phone acted a little quirky and then started asking me for my pass code to access those files. I didn't protect any other apps with it, just my images _ video; @ least I don't believe I did. I figured out a way to retrieve the images by removing and reinserting the memory chip. It worked but if the phone battery ran out of juice, it would go back to asking for my pass code.
I took it to my dealer where I bought the phone and they are the best. They installed new firmware I believe and they could not recover the pass code, which Nokia should tell you (intensely) that if you forget it , there is no way to retrieve it and you have to reformat the chip and lose all your images.
I cannot do that, especially when the last photo of a friend who just died is on that memory chip. I have a Mac and PC Suite, which I believe is incompatible w/a Mac computer. I know I should have backed them up by USB but I never thought this could happen.
I am truly helpless because the more I try to solve this, the more I believe I will harm the data chip. Maybe I will just remove the chip and buy another one until I get some info.
I called Nokia but they were no help. There has to be a backdoor in. Anyone who can fix this situation will receive more than a thanks.
Thanks for reading; I'm a writer + have to explain the whole story.
Thanks to anyone who can help me out.
