If you open the top of washer their should be a schematic taped to the side with all the info you need.

i think you mean the (door seal), and yes they can be replaced and at little cost and little effort, with out knowing what model your machine is i cant give you an accurate price quote but should be able to pick one up for for next to nothing if you look around. happy to give instructions on how to replace the old one if needed.

I have the same problem. Bosch no longer stocks the replacement for my particular washer which has the same model no but could be a different fd #. I now have the wrong part as directed by bosch which doesnt have the hose connection. I am not sure what to do with the hose leading to nowhere. Bosch is living off of an undeserved good reputation.
In the present, the reputation is not deserved. Bosch products should only be recommended to enemies. The company and the especially the customer service is beyond deplorable. I hate these appliances. I feel ripped off! The part by the way, which is wrong, is 100.00 with tax.

If old one is not leaking ,fill machine up and put cup full of bleach in let it wash for 5 mins ,Then switch of leave overnight,then contine with wash cycle.This is because most people do not do hot washes ever.

I have this problem. This code is due to restriction of water flow. In my case, we have sand in our water, and I have installed a filter between the water line and the washer. When it gets clogged, the flow is restricted and the Check Water Tap message appears. Your washer has filters on the back of the washer itself that may be clogged and need cleaning (which is why I installed the water filter between the washer & water line to prevent it from getting into the washer filter). Your washer manual shows you how to check/clean them. Also, you may have low water pressure during summer months due to lawn watering in your area that could cause this lower water pressure.

Based on your post, "sounds as though there is a coin or screw spinning around in behind trap door" this is usually associated with something in the drain pump or pump filter.
Yes you should open it...however make sure you have a wet-dry vacuum or lots of towels first as there is likely some water present since it is the drain pump and filter you're dealing with.
These are the steps I'd suggest you take to move forward...
**Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs**
Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. as I mentioned If the machine mostly drained, it won't be too bad. ( maybe you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain )
Lets begin...
3. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free. (the edges are very sharp so be careful...I usually cover the edges with electrical or duct tape or wear welders gloves).
4. Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand or with the aid of pliers.
( you should also see a ring with a string attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first is usually a good plan ) 
THIS RELEASES THE DOOR LATCH IF PULLED
There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out
5. Now pull out the trap and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap.
Hopefully you'll find the item/debris that initiated your post here.

6. After removing any debris or obstruction`s re-install the button trap/lint filter and plug the washer in to power or reset the breaker and give it a test.
7. Run a load and watch for leaks. Leave the pump access door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight and there are no leaks.
