I have a blackberry 8900, my earpiece speaker isnt working at all when i get a call, if i put it on loud speaker the phone works but it rattles and crackles as the person is speaking, it also crackles when it rings, ive tried to replace one of the speakers and this hasnt helped, im going to try and replace the other one, is there any other quick fixes?

This is because of the BlackBerry Browser as it doesnt support the Video Codecs (protocol).

If you would like to view video content from Youtube, you may have to download other Browser(s).

Another option is "Opera Mini". Which can be downloaded from this address:
http://mini.opera.com

on your blackberry browser: Press "goto" and then goto this address.
http://mini.opera.com

Select download and install the mini opera 4.2 application.

once up and running, you should be able to play video content on your blackberry.

(for the people who require to view the content on WIFI, they should go to the preferences of the opera mini browser and select the wifi checkbox).

I had the same problem. My ring was getting lower everyday. I've done my fair share of dropping the phone.
So, I read that other people were having the issue.
One genius, told us to take off the back plate, and just where the camera is, there is a greyish plastic plate riveted down with plastic knobs. You press on either side quite hard. If you can do this while the phone is ringing, you will hear the volume jump up and down. When it sounds just right, leave it alone, put back on the plate.
If it happens again, repeat.
You may need to buy the speaker plate after a while. It's only 10 bucks on cnn.cn
