When I am in voice mail and someone calls my keypad is no longer active. I can no longer push any buttons to operate through voicemail. For example the number 7 deletes messages...Before someone calls this feature works great. If I am in voice mail and someone calls I can longer use the 7 key to delete in fact I can't use any function keys to manipulate anything in voice mail. How acn I solve this issue? I am in and out of vocie mail all day. If someone calls while I am in I have to hang up and dial back in to be able to use my keypad and function in voice mail!!!

You
can manually lock the keypad to avoid pressing keys by accident. You
can still answer an incoming call and the keypad will lock again when
the call is finished. The keypad remains locked until you unlock it
manually. Depending on your phone model, you can activate the
automatic keylock. When the automatic keylock is activated, the keypad
locks shortly after you stop pressing keys. Please note: with
some phones you can still use external keys when the keypad is locked.
If you wish to lock the external keys you must lock them separately.

For voice mail service subscribers
If you subscribe to a flat-rate service
package that includes Caller ID, call
waiting, voice mail, and unlimited
local/regional/long distance calls, please
note the following:
L To use the voice mail service provided
by your service provider/telephone
company rather than the unit's
answering system, turn off the
answering system (page 30).
L To use this unit's answering system
rather than the voice mail service
provided by your service provider/
telephone company, please contact
your service provider/telephone
company to deactivate your voice mail
service.
If your service provider/telephone
company cannot do this:
- Set this unit's "Ring count"
setting so that this unit's answering
system answers calls before the
voice mail service of your service
provider/telephone company does.
It is necessary to check the number
of rings required to activate the
voice mail service provided by your
service provider/telephone
company before changing this
setting.
- Change the number of rings of the
voice mail service so that the
answering system can answer the
call first. To do so, contact your
service provider/telephone
company.
