How do i stop my tv from constantly shutting off?

  • Anonymous Oct 12, 2008

TV seems to just shut down, and sometimes turn back on too. One day, we could not get it to go on at all.

I have the same problem with TFT-LCD Television we purchased about a year ago. I'll be watching something and all of the sudden the screen goes black/turns itself off. I can turn the TV off and on again and it'll be fine for an hour or so and then it'll do it again.

We have a Samsung 46" LCD HDTV and a red vertical band has shown up on the right side of the TV screen. Repair or bust?

If the band is there constantly and looking the same then the defect is in the LCD panel itself - the tv is gone.

Hi, My SAMSUNG LE40R88BDX/XEU LCD 40'', isnt working! When you turn the TV on it sounds like someone is constantly turning it on and off with the remote, as its making a constant switching on and off...

It sounds like the power supply board has some bad capacitors that need to be replaced. Samsung is covering the cost to repair this problem on some models. You can call 1-800-samsung to find out if your unit is covered.

Power won't come on- constant clicking loop instead

My T.V. did the same thing and it was due to bad capacitors on the power supply board. the tops of the capacitors were bulged, once replaced it worked fine. It involves sodering in new capacitors total cost $30. that includes buying the sodering tool. Keep looking around on line someone had pictures step by step how to do it.

Samsung lcd tv

the problem is the internal power supply module has gone bad the first sign is usually the pip if included stops working... well open your lcd monitor try not to damage screen for those who have carpet you may want to use glove to keep your self grounded from cause any other damage to components the boards are usually sperate unit in the new models unplug the powersupply unit

(you can tell because the outlet that the cord connects to will be locate on this board)

once remove locate part number and call manufacture to order part another method to by pass manufacture take unit to your local tv shop it has to be a good one because most only buy new parts but ask them to test and replace bad part of power supply should be faster then manufacture send replacement part

no manufacturer want you to fix they want you to buy new units again

Samsung tv

as far as it turning off on its own I would get a fan on it and see if that make a difference make sure that the fan is able to flow around the tv especially through the back of it, if this stops it from turning off then it is an overheating problem
