I have an HPw19. I starts up with Windows XP and then says Input not suported. I sent the unit away for a new one and the new on is doing the same thing. I cannot see anything but the black screen and the floating message. Is this a software or hardware or a cable problem?

I have had my HP19W monitor that came with my ac1347 equipment. About a year I complained to HP that my power switch was not waorking right. After a number of calls with their tech support (in India??), I got a call from tech support in Canada who got me a new monitor. I think HP has a problem with the power switch/button. This monitor is not my choice of a good product!!!!!

To be sure the system is actually on press the caps lock key when on if it comes on then yr problem should be from screen display.what to do.
*disasemble the screen area then check the module, conector then the screen itself to know the actual problem. most times when u lose and tight back u find the problem solved so try it out.
hope this helps

Monitor come on for a few seconds then goes black, green signal light stay on green. can you help

the monitor may be losing the back lite. take a flash light or bright light and shine it at the screen after it goes black. can you see a faint picture? if so the back lite has failed. usually the cost of replacement exceeds the cost of a new monitor but there are a couple of web sites that detail the replacement of the "ccfl" cold cathode flouresecent light.

Monitor won't stay on. each time I turn it on it comes up for about 3 seconds and then goes black

aburnsrn, Cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps don't light-up, you will be looking at black screen!! If unit older than 5-6 years trade for new wide-screen. Else read for about 2 hrs. in my fixya profile for more options.

Hannspree HF229H will not stay on

railbird56, Common problem for ALL BRANDS of "cold-cahtode-fluorescent-lamp" back-lit lcd monitors! Here are your options!!! Cheapest to most costly!! 1. Warranty repair. 2 DIY repair???? 3. Local or distant repair. 4. possible old + cash swapout with Hannspree for refurbished same model?? 5. Trade-in for new wide screen. My best guess on your monitor (no history) is that the unit's SMPS is in partial or full shutdown mode during it's black screen moments. How much do you know about "electronic ballasts" "switch-mode-power-supplys" and how to repair them?? 12fixlouie

Screen goes black, but power light is on (not blinking)

The problem is not with your screen. Its the problem of Video Card of your system which is unable to send Video Signals to the Screen.

Monitor comes on, I can see everything perfect then goes black

"Most" newer monitors will let you know if the are no longer receiving a signal. Sounds like the backlight is burnt out. Try getting a bright (LED works best) flashlight and shining it at the screen at all angles to see if you can see any of what you were doing. If the backlight is on the fritz, either return it on warranty or buy a new one.

Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.

Sounds like either there is a bad connection from the computer to the monitor, or the monitor has a faulty power regulator, causing the monitor to overheat prematurely, and shut off.

Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.

I start my computer and turn it on, and everything looks fine for about 1/4 of a second and then it goes black while leaving the power light green. I can only see the screen again after turning it off and on, but that's only for another 1/4 second. What's up?
I got my rosewill flatscreen as a hand me down from my father. I've had it for several years now. Was working fine until a month ago. When I turn the computer on the screen goes black after 1/4 of a saecond. I have to turn it off and on anywhere from 10 to 20 times before it stays on. I have checked all plugs to the computer and outlets. I have absolutely no idea whats causing this.
