I cant hear a sound from flash player in internet

i think my sound card is defective????
but after i install new flash player it is still the same no music

new flash update and got no sound for all flash media as well as some of the video games I have bought and paid for , this is b.s searching for days for fix its , except those **** sites for all this so called fixit programs for $$$$$$$ and mor $$$$$$$$ . Tried new codecs , tried adobe , tried driver updates , windows media plays fine , but all flash media and media sites , zippo unless you can play in media player. Tried a back up to old player but windows or ibm upload it in an update and screws everything up .. Same thing with me. I can go on tbs.com and watch a full episode of a show and hear the sound fine. But try to play a video or watch something on utube and no sound.
