Personal Wheelwriter, the daisy wheel spins the carrier spaces to the right then it beeps..it keeps doing this til lit hits the right margin. tried anothe print wheel, no change.

It's not completing the power on reset probably a board or power supply. If you have the ability remove the board and look for debris on and around it.

Try a little shot of WD40 on each side of the silver shaft that the carrier slides on,. If that doesn't work you have to lube the carrier motor bearings the front one is accessable from the inside the rear one you may be able the straw thru the release lever hole.
No, the printwheels are the same for all Wheelwriters. Make sure the letters face the roller when you put it in (pull the print hammer assy back and check for paper clips, ribbon pieces, etc. first).
either the carriage home position sensor flag is broken or the daisy wheel can't find home. try removing daisy wheel and re-installit. turn unit on and see if daisy wheel spins if it does then the carriage home position sensor has a problem.
The trouble is probably the silver shaft that the carrier slides on is gummed up. Try a little WD40 on the shaft, if that dosen't work the carrier motor in the L. rear corner may need lubricated, WD40 will do that too.
A lot of possibilities Which lights, beeps, how many? Check for debris in and around the printwheel, look for any obstructions under the carrier, put a few drops of oil on the silver shaft the carrier ride on.
Return to the L. margin, touch the mar rel key top key on L. of the keyboard, backspace to location where you want the L. margin, touch the L. mar key. Put some WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on.
It could be that the right hand margin is set very close to the left margin. Try spacing way over to the right side of the typewriter and resetting the right margin there.
