How can i change my home page

With Internet Explorer. Move your mouse to the top right side of the screen and you will see a house a star and something that looks sort of like a star. Left click on the far right icon one time and then click on Internet Options. Under the General Options you will see Home Page and a box under that to fill in any page you like. You can go to the page that you want to be your Home Page before clicking there and then just tell it to Use Current. Or you can type in the URL that you want to be your Home Page. Don't forget to click on Apply and then OK.

How do I change the desktop text, icons and bars back to 100% from 500% in Windows 8.1?

Hi Cindy

You have set a customer DPI scale for your display.

Right Click on desktop
Choose "Screen Resolution"
Click on link that says "Make Text and other items larger or smaller"
Click on link that says "Set custom text size (DPI)"
Adjust the scale back to 100%
Apply the changes and all should be well.

Andrew

My laptop screen is zoomed in which is making all my icons huge. It makes my Internet pages huge also. How can I zoom out so my screen is back to normal size?

use this if using windows vista/windows 7

Set the zoom level in Magnifier. This can display objects on the screen up to sixteen times larger than actual size. Follow these steps to choose the magnification level that you want.

  1. ?id=microsoft.windows.resources.shellexecutetopiciconClick to open Magnifier.

  2. In the Scale Factor list, select a level. The zoom level in the Magnifier window will change right away. Adjust the level until it's right for you.

use this if in windows xp

  • 1 Click the "Start" button in Windows.

  • 2 Select "Control Panel."
  • 3 Select "Appearance and Themes."
  • 4 Select "Change the Screen Resolution."
  • 5 Look at the left side of the "Display Properties" dialog window. About half way down the screen you will see a box labeled "Screen resolution." There is an adjustable slider in this box.
  • 6 Move the slider left or right, by holding down the left mouse button, and moving the mouse in the appropriate direction. Release the button when the slider is pointing to the resolution you desire.
  • 7 Click the "Apply" button at the bottom right of the window. The screen will go black for an instant, and then will switch to the new resoulution. You will also see a message pop up asking you to confirm the setting. If you are unsatisfied with the appearance, then click "no," and try another resolution. Otherwise, click "yes."

  • or try the accessibility mode

    1) press start goto control panel be sure use are in classic view

    2) select accessibilty options and select display tab and uncheck the enlarged icons option and apply and click on ok. this will reset all programs to a smaller view.

How do I adjust my monitor? My home page does not

I'm not sure what operating system you're using nor what you mean by your "home page". If you mean your browser window doesn't fill the whole Windows desktop, what happens when you maximize the window?

If your desktop looks huge with tiny icons (and tiny-looking windows, if you have any open and not maximized) all clustered in the middle of the screen, your display resolution may be set higher than you're accustomed to. In most versions of Windows you can go to Control Panel | Display, see what your current resolution is, and try adjusting it. The higher the numbers, the "bigger" the desktop area (and the smaller the icons and everything else). If you adjust the resolution higher than your monitor can handle, you may lose your display and have to restart the computer in something like Safe mode to get to Control Panel and readjust it. If you adjust the resolution lower (or run in Safe Mode) your icons may not fit on the smaller desktop and may get scrambled. In that case, first straighten out the display resolution, then move your icons back where you want them.

It could be that the screen is at the correct resolution, but the icons are just set to display larger (Vista allows this). Right-click on the desktop (NOT over any icons), and select "View". there you can select the size of the desktop icons.
