The pads dont spoil easly... just check the solder ... may be there is a problem in your main board.. remove the battery and the power and leave it over night.. next day put back the battery and try.... mine works very well but only for 10 seconds.. then the volume goes very very low.
The trigger may have gone bad - I'm actually on line now looking for replacement parts.
open up the unit and that part looks like a coin, attached to a wire.

Check for a cracked PCB internally from the two defective pads, or if the wires have detached from the trigger. You may not need parts, but if you do, it really depends on how helpful the Roland distributor in your area is as to whether you will have any luck getting them, or you may have to go trough a local authorized repair shop.
Good luck.
Hold down the "Wave" and "Setup" buttons at the same time while powering on the SPD-S. This will turn off the protection; you should now be able to remove the file.
To turn the protection back on, perform the same procedure again.
if you have the samples in .WAV then you will have to IMPORT them, because SPD-S can only play .SPD files (import will convert from WAV to SPD).If you have produced your samples with your SPD-S (via mic or line-in or PhraseMaker) then they are already in .SPD-format and can be assigned without importing. In this case you just have to assign a sample to a pad, by pressing CARD ("card"=lit) you can assign samples from your CF-card to a pad.
Two pads went out on me.
