Hello

Remove the battery from the laptop. A Toshiba battery is located on the bottom of the laptop. Slide the locking mechanism to the right. Hold the mechanism in place with one hand while lifting the battery upward with the other hand. Release the locking mechanism once the battery is removed.

Plug the power cord into the right side of the Toshiba laptop while the battery is removed. Press the "Power" button to turn the laptop on. If the laptop turns on, the power cord is properly working. If the laptop doesn't turn on, ensure the electrical outlet is working by plugging in another device. If the electrical outlet is working but the computer won't turn on, the power cord is dead and needs to be replaced. If the power cord is not properly working, it will not charge the battery. Turn off the laptop and remove the power cord.

Examine the battery. Look for signs of damage, such as corrosion, dents or dings. If you see damage on the battery or battery contacts, replace the battery with a new one.

Clean the laptop battery. Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into the rubbing alcohol cap. Dip a cotton swab into the rubbing alcohol. Rub the swab onto the battery contacts, located on the battery and in the battery bay, to remove dust and grime. Dirt can prevent the battery from properly charging, so the battery should be routinely cleaned.

Push the laptop battery back into the battery bay. The battery will snap into place.

Plug the power cord into the side of the laptop. Allow the battery to charge for 8 hours or overnight. Do not use the laptop during this time, as it can slow down the charging process.

Remove the power cord. Press the "Power" button. If the laptop will not turn on, the battery is dead and should be replaced.

You need to diagnose the problem.
>First try to take the battery out of the computer and just use the charger to make computer run.
>If it turns on it means that the battery is what's causing the problem.
>But, if computer cannot run using the charger/AC Adapter then it means that we have a problem with the charger.
By doing this diagnostics you know which part to replace.

I just bought the eclipse cld and it won't turn on after charging for hours

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Netbook charging indicator light won't light and battery won't charge. AC adapter works on other computers

Hello,
If the battery won't charge and the laptop won't turn on but the ac adapter works with other laptops, then the problem is the port where you plugin the ac adapter. Some of the laptops has it built in to the motherboard. So you might need to have it repaired by a technician. Or if the laptop is still in warranty, you might need to send it to the manufacturer to have it repaired or replaced. But if the laptop works without the battery, or it will turn on but the battery indicator is not lighting up, you're facing one of these problems.
1. The battery itself is dead. 2. the battery bay is loose 3. the battery itself is loose
Hope this helps...

Won t charge

Download Motorola Phone tools and get a new battery for your phone.
The batteries go bad about once a year, sometimes longer.
