I noticed you were talking about over heating issues. Does the mouse issue happen when the computer is on for a period time?

I know with some laptops there is software for the "gadgets" on the mouse pad. If you have software related to it.. try reinstalling.

I am getting mixed thoughts of what you maybe talking about... please explain.

SOURCE: HP NX9600 wont power up.

Hello,

The Compaq NX 9600 is rather a complicated and somewhat notorious problem child. One of HP's better ideas, and a good one when it is working.

Disconnect Power adapter from PC
Remove Battery
Hold down power on button for 30 seconds
Remove both memory modules, Stot1 and Slot2.
Re-install battery
Re-connect power adapter
Attempt to reboot.
If nothing happens the book says replace the motherboard which is very pricey.

email me @ [email protected] and give me and update as I don't visit this site often.

Ok what sometimes happens is that the power cable breaks close to the Jack, or the Jack, cracks away the solder on the Motherboard... you first need to establish if you PSU, is actually putting out power, you can do this with a meter set to Volts. If it is OK, then your problem is on the MB, if NOT it is the Plug, wire to plug etc, check all this before you get a new supply, which hopefully that is what it is... If the MB cracked out... then it is a job for a service man.. or if you are handy with a soldering iron, it can be done yourself. On rare occasions it is the actual power unit Inside the PC...

New batteries won't charge

it needs service,
if the charge circuits fail, it needs to be repaired.
do know the charge chip is on the MOBO. so , not easy to fix.

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/

the full service manual is at HP, why ask here. we are not HP.

here it all is. see guides?

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-G60-200-Notebook-PC-series/3837658/model/3860166

my guess is the MOBO is bad,(the charge chip blew out)

Why doesn't my hp notebook charge?

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

HP Elitebook 2530 Pindicator says battery charging but battery not charging

Could be a back power brick or DC jack yes. Power off the computer and remove the battery. With the battery out plug in just the power brick and turn on the computer. If the computer doesn't power on gently wiggle the plug into the laptop and repeatedly hit the power button if it comes on briefly then off again you dc jack is loose. If it doesn't come on at all then its the power brick. If the laptop comes on gently wiggle the plug into the PC. Powers off while wiggling DC jack.

Hi, I've got a bizarre problem, that I've only bought this Hp Mini say a week ago; but already I can't charge the battery. I'm embarrassed as if what could possibly be wrong with the battery? the system...

Rather than beating your head against the wall, return it for exchange. A new computer should charge with no problem.

I assume you charged it while off overnight first as the book generally states.

Hello,
You may need to diagnose the status of your battery.
Press control+Shift+Delete to do so. Make sure it is plugged in.
If it reports the health is good, then it is the heat sink responsible for the problem. Get your laptop serviced at the service centre.
If it says primary battery not detected and health 'Replace', your battery may be old enough to be replaced.
If the battery backup has reduced drastically within past few days, then you need to get the battery replaced.
your battery may be covered in your HP warranty.

One thing you need to know is that, plugged in & not charging is a safety step taken by HP to ensure that your computer doesn't get overheated. So, you don't need to worry much unless it is persistant.
Again, kindly use your laptop while keeping it on a hard surface so that the processor fan & exhaust doesn't get blocked.
Reagards.
