I had a problem with the Sony DAV-DZ810W Home Theater Systems receiver BUT no problem at all with the 5.1 Speakers Systems (including the IR). I want to buy other new DVD/CD/USB/BlueRay Receiver System with all the new technologies like DLNA compliance, etc. and conenct the new system with my old 5.1 Speaker system from Sony DAV-DZ810W. What I am wondering is how to setup the wireless part if I connect this system to a new system (not necessariyly from Sony). Anyone has idea? Is it clear or needs clearifications above? Thanks, Seref

SOURCE: Sony Model DAV ? SB 500W Home Theatre System

Please check at rear of TV for Digital Optical IN port as home theater should have optical out port at rear. If you got any optical in port in TV, just connect optical wire between TV and home theater.

2nd option is check Line Out pins at rear of home theater system, if found, hook red-white RCA cable there and put it to same input in TV where you hooked Video (composite or component) cable.

Let me know the results to help you more.

SOURCE: Rear S-Air speakers cutting in and out

I read on another review that the HDMI cable is causing this problem because it is beside the S-Air transmitter on the main unit. I could not get my rear speakers to pair or work, and sure enough, when I removed the HDMI cable and hooked up the unit via Component Video to my Sony 52" XBR TV, the speakers paired and worked. When I plugged the HDMI cable in they did not work. I am going to try to purchase a higher-end, more expensive HDMI cable and see if that helps. The whole point of HDMI is for true blue ray 1080p pictures. Hope this helps.

My DAVHDX576WF surround system is connected to my TV by HDMI, but I hear no sound. The home theater test/setup is audible, radio is audible, but nothing from the TV

Which direction do you expect audio to be flowing: from or to the TV? The HDMI is an outbound connection for video. Page 71 describes how to enable the DVD AUDIO ONLY if you really want TV speakers to be competing with the DAV.
