My Sansa Fuze 4G mP3 player locks up on an FM radio station and I cannot use ANY of the controls to get it to stop. The FM radio has been playing and I cannot stop it so I cannot play music. I tried the main controls, the main dial and control button to get me back to "home" and also tried the side on/off switch that also won't turn off the player. I have been able to turn it off twice and then when it restarts, the FM radio is still playing. I also cannot change channels on the radio. I cannot listen to my music or to my audio books and the FM station that is playing is not a good one. Something must be wrong or the unit is defective. I have a guarantee on the Sansa and I am thinking about sending it back to the factory for replacement if you cannot help me. Thanks, Holly

SOURCE: I loaded my music but it skips (cuts in/out) as does FM radio.

Make sure the songs are in the correct format - WMA or Mp3.

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to the Sandisk website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out.
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

SOURCE: sansa clip 2mg fm radio not putting out sound

Go into the Settings menu of the Sansa, and change the region to "World" if you live outside the US, and change to "United States" if you live inside the US. Then, go back to the Radio mode and see if there is an icon that looks like a block (technically, a "Stop" sign) - if there is, press up on the clickwheel - it will get your radio off of pause mode. You radio should now work again.

SOURCE: my sansa clip won't play the songs I loaded on!

I've had this happen a couple of times in the last 6 months. You can get it to play again by chosing the format option from the settings menu. Of course, then you've lost everything you had loaded on to it. Download your music/audio books again and they will play.

How do I record FM radio programs and transfer them to my computer?

unfortunately, the voice recorder works only as voice recorder, it cannot play FM and record it at the same time. though you can play fm radio from another device and record it using your SanDisk mp3 player.

To transfer your recordings from your mp3 player, connect your device to your PC.

Open "My computer" from your PC and you'll there "your Sansa Player"

Double-click on "your Sansa Player", then open the "Music" folder, then, open "Recordings" folder.

You'll find all your recordings on that folder.

Radio won't play

1) Go into the settings menu, go to FM settings, and make sure the FM Region is set for United States. If you are outside the US, change it to "World"
2) The radio might initially be set for Pause - to test this, turn to a specific radio station that you know you get, and press up on the clickwheel. The "block" icon underneath the radio station should now change to a play arrow, if indeed it was on pause.
