My 2004 Harley Sportster 883 has been sitting for a year, replaced battery, but it won't even turn over
I have a 1980's somthing 883 with a fucked up hand built wiring harness and for some strange reason when I hit the starter it just clicks. So I moved the relays and got shocked. Whats my problem???
Had that problem with sportster, wrong starter, not enough power
Rear brake caliber slides and caliber wont open and shut sometimes i have rear brakes then i dont
I have a 1980 sportser the bike starts and runs. When i turn it off after a few minutes of riding it wont even turn over till it sits for a few hours? The light works just here a clicking sound.
Do the lights or anything even come on? Probably starter/solenoid contacts needs to be cleaned or somthing from it sitting. Could even be the starter relay. If everything else seems to work on the bike then its probably something with the starter system.

Sounds like the issue I have as well. Bike has a fully charged battery, lights, horn etc work fine. When turn ignition, just hear a click sound.
I looked at the plugs are both are sparking correctly when turn ignition. When I removed the plugs but attached the cap, the engine turns over (no ignition obviously).
Seems strange the engine will crank when the plugs are out but not when they are inserted..
i have the exact same problem with my 87 883 not turning over with plugs in take them out turns over no worries it has a brand new battery cant seem to work it out
