I am using Nokia 5800 from last 10 months. From last few days my phone battery started heating up and discharge quickly. Iwent to nokia care and get updated the software. I am not able to understand what is the problem.

THE PROBLEM IES WITH THE BATTERY AND PLZ ALWAYS USE THE CHARGER SPECIFIED FOR YOUR PHONE AND PLZ DO NOT USE CHARGERS OF OTHER NOKIA MOBILES....BECAUSE IN NOKIA CHARGER PIN ARE SAME,BUT BATTERY MODELS ARE DIFFERENT...........UR BATTERY WILL GET CHARGED BUT THE LIFE LL BE LOWERED.......
THE BATTERY HAS DAMAGED IN YOUR PHONE AND THE SOLUTION IS TO CHANGE UR MOBILE BATTERY.................

It might be a problem with the firmware or it might be a hardware issue also where you have to replace the battery..
I had same kind of issue with my nokia battery first thing nokia suggests or does is upgrading the firmware it hardly resolves the issue..what i will suggest is if your battery is still under warranty replace it nokia saying updating the firmware does no good if battery is out of warranty buy battery from nokia care no where else buy it from them and use it..

I will tell you what! I own 3 Nokia phones. And I know how to extend battery life (before recharge is needed) by UNloading the battery! Turn off location services, wifi, cellular data, and automatic updates, and only use them when you NEED them ... then, OFF they go!

During the Obama administration, they started TRACKING every citizen (and perhaps non-citizens too), 24/7/365.25! That is a terrible waste of battery power on all cell phones. Without all those TRACKING services on, my batteries (one per phone) can go for WEEKS without a recharge!

Possible that the phone has been installed with some software that activates when you are ONLINE and so the processor heats up. It can be also due to problems in the software and hence it is best to take an advice from the nearest NOKIA CARE center or check the link below and call for support:

Soak your phone in Rice for about 24 hours
rice acts like a sponge that drains the moist inside the phone.

Problem with charging nokia 5800
If your phone was bought in the last 6 months you can go to nokia care center and demand for a new battery and charger or repair the existing ones provided you have the warranty card.You should get it done for free of cost.If 6 months exceeded then

Did u try another charger of the same mobile company,if yes ,and it works ,the problem is with your charger.You can either buy a new charger or get an all battery charger ,a china piece that recharges all batteries of any mobile company.You can get it below 2$ .
If your battery doesn't charge even with other charger of the same company then the problem is with your battery.If you are a nokia user ,here is the price list of all nokia batteries.

I may know the problem, in my opinion there could be two possible things worng with your "Nokia 5800". One is that your fan(inside the phone) is not working properly. you should get it checked at your local cell phone repair shop. the other less likely problem is that you have a wrong type of battery in your phone. witch can also be fixed at a cell phone repair shop

My Nokia 5800 will not turn on. It only vibrates.
  1. With your 5800 turned off,
  2. Press and hold [Green] + [Red] + [Camera] Keys
  3. Turn phone ON, and keep pressing it until you see the Nokia Shaking Hands Logo.
The phone will be factory reset. If asked, default code is 12345. My phone did not ask- only the normal SIM PIN.
