I have the TR 9500 HR - Next Generation. When a program runs, the button does not respond Incline - Incline setting. If the machine is at rest tilt can be performed in service menu / System Test / LIFT MOTOR tilt to it without problems. This problem started after replacing the Motor Controller.

Usually its the display panel not sending the proper signal - look under the display panel on the left side if standing on the belt, there is an access opening and there will be 3 plugs or connectors, it is the smaller 2 prong connector, just unplug and replug to clear the connection, that usually fixes mine, while in there unplug and replug all 3 plugs just to be safe.

Because you are hearing the lift motor making a noise, it sounds like the gears in the motor are bad. The fix is to replace the lift motor.

I'm sorry to say that using the acid base solution destroyed your function pad and will need to replace. Any clean must be done with simple green or warm gentle soapy water.
