I have had a Samsung P1253 washing machine for 14 months and today it started making a grinding, clicking noise. I removed the debris filter at the front of the machine and checked the drain pump propeller. The propeller came away in my fingers and I found a piece of metal, which I asume was supposed to be holding the propeller in. I rang Samsung and, because I've had the washer over 1 year, there's noting they can do but give me the number of their approved repair company. Any ideas?

The water supply for your washing machine is having problems or the water supply hose is either kinked or is blocked. The debris filter and the mesh filter need to be cleaned out.
No a noise filter is a different kettle of fish. That stops electrical interference noise from affecting your television, radios and electrical devices.
The most likely source of the hum is the start capacitor on the motor, or the motor itself.
Humming or Grinding
If your Samsung dishwasher makes noise when starting that sounds like a low hum, it's part of normal function. The motor makes this sound as it operates throughout the wash cycle. However, a dishwasher making loud humming noise or grinding sounds could mean that debris is caught in the drain pump.
Remove base cover from front of machine, unscrew filter cap and remove, wash filter of debris, check drain pump propeller behind the filter, clean of any debris, replace filter and base cover.
Sometimes a little piece of debris such as a toothpick, chicken bone, etc. can get past the screen and make it into the pump. The wash arm pulls right off and the part holding the screen can be remove with a twist. remove the screen and then you will see the impellar in the pump whee the debris is at. Hope this helps.
I would remove the water lines from hot and cold and look inside them on the back of the washer sometimes debris builds up on the built in screens and forced water makes it vibrate making noise like you are describing. An easy check and could save you tons of cash.
Hi, It sounds like you have something stuck in the pump. To repair Unplug machine. Remove bottom front panel(remove 2-3 screws in the bottom) Pull bottom of panel out and down to remove. Towards the center bottom you will see the pump. On the front is a round thing that resembles a filter. This is the pump filter screen...Get a shallow pan to put under screen. Turn lid counter clockwise to remove(turn slowly and allow water to drain. As you may need to dump pan several times before all water is drained out. Be carful or you could end up with water everywhere. Once the water is drained pull out screen and remove the debris and objects stuck in screen and filter housing you should also be able to see the impeller on the pump inspect for debris. Once everything is cleaned out reverse removal procedures put back together.

If you remove the back panel, there are two pumps towards ethier side at the botom of the tub. If you remove the back hoses (have some towels ready) You may find something in one of the two pumps.
