Professional series one year old frigidaire microwave. the kids pull the door when using it, so the door is sagging. still works fine. any solution?
thanks
salem
If your door is removable, look where there is a plastic seal or ring on the door itself. It is usually attached to a bracket or near there someplace. I have taken plastic washers and put in place, otherwise replaced the parts that are worn out on the door assembly.
Tell kids not to pull on door while in use. Harder said then done. I have 9 children and they all have done this. My youngest still thinks he can microwave GI Joe to death.
Anyrate, if the issue I gave doesn't work, try your local appliance repair store. Sometimes they can help by either repair or giving advice.
Good luck.
i have the a same problem. it started out with just the bottom hinge becoming loose inside now a middle tack weld or something has come loose. the door is really hanging now. it looks like the hinges were tack welded to the metal frame are all coming loose
I have the same problem. The kids are short so they pull the door down as they open it.
I called a major dept store that has an online parts center and they sent me two screws ($17) . After getting the unit off the wall it appears that there are no screws to attach at all and the unit was tack welded as you suggest.
There are holes that line up on the hinge and the microwave but they are bigger than 4mm but smaller than 5mm. The thought has occured to tap a 5mm hole and screw it back together. I could get a buddy to weld it back. I've read on line about JB Weld. Definitely fixable.... seems like a common problem. Curious how others have solved this.
All you have to do is use 3mm or 4mm pop rivets. I fixed mine a year ago and its still holding strong.
