HOW do l set up answering machine message on Uniden XDECT 8315 home phone

The Uniden XDECT 8315 does not have an answering machine. It will check your voice mail. Setting that greeting depends on your telephone service provider. Check your provider's voice mail FAQ.

To have your XDECT 8315 get your voive mail messages, press Message and then select Voice Mail. Then follow the prompts to enter your voice mail access number. Alternatively, you can press Menu > Global Menu Settings > Edit Voice Mail. See pages 17 and 32 of the manual. (See the link below.)

The manual for the XDECT 8315 is available on the product page: https://uniden.com.au/product/xdect-8315-1/ . The current link to the manual is https://uniden.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/XDECT_83151_OM.pdf .

If you do not have voice mail from your telephone company, you can add a stand-alone answering machine. Just make sure to connect the answering machine to the telephone jack. Then connect the answering machine RJ-11 out to the telephone's RJ-11 jack on the base.

I hope this helps.

I forgot how to clear the stored voice mails

Les,

If you want to delete the actual voice mails, you have to go through your phone company (using their keypad commands) since voice mail is only accessible through your phone (but the voice mail messages are stored through your phone company provider).

Info from the Uniden DECT 6.0 6035 Manual:

Using the Voice Mail Service If you subscribe to a voice mail service, you can use your phone to access your voice mailbox. The new message LED on the handset ?ashes and VM appears in the handset display whenever you have messages waiting in yourvoice mailbox. When you subscribe to the service, your voice mail provider provides you with the access number and the required voice mail signaling tone. You can use your phonebook to store the access number.

Resetting the Voice Message Waiting Indicator

When you receive a new voice mail message, the new message LED on the top of the handset ?ashes and
appears in the handset display. In the event your message alert tone gets out of sync with your phone company's voice messaging system, you can reset back to its original "no messages waiting" state. To reset, press and hold [?nd hs] on the base for ?ve seconds. A beep sounds and the message alert tone is reset.

I have a Uniden DECT6.0 and noticed a small letter v over a letter m next to the battery life. What is this? And how do I remove it? Many Thanks!

Which Uniden phone do you have? For the DECT-1588, the V over M symbol means that you have Voice Mail waiting. Call your voice mail system and check your messages. If no messages are waiting, the message information has gotten out of synch with the voice mail system. In that case, reset the unit to the "No messages waiting". At the base, press Menu/Select. Select the Global Setup Menu and then the VMWI Reset submenu. Choose Yes or No by moving the cursor and then press Menu/Select. Use the arrow keys to move through the menus.

Manuals for most Uniden DECT phones are here: http://www.uniden.com/index/manuals_results.cfm?cat=59 .

I hope this helps.

My phones are Uniden DECT 6.0 (digital answering system). Why does a little red light in the upper left corner of each handset keep blinking each 2 seconds?

If it doesn't, you can reset it: With the phone in standby, open the
menu and select Global Setup; select VMWI Reset, then select Yes.

We have a Uniden DECT1588 Series system that we have just purchased. We are connected to a Voice Mail Service through Bell. We can receive the messages from the answering service but the light on the hand...

OK. You have a phone set with an answering machine, yet you continue to pay MaBell for Voice-Mail. Is there any compelling reason. That was my feeling when I first read your question but I thought you might not like what I had to say, so I consulted the Uniden FAQ and here what they have to say.

If you Uniden phone has a digital answering machine, and you also have voice mail through your phone company, the message indicator light will not light up when you have a message in your voice mail system. We recommend you discontinue your voice mail and use the Uniden internal digital answering system.
