I turned the tv on last night. As soon as I turned it on it flashed (like a spark light) then went blank. I kept hitting the on-off button. It did the on not off then the red light just twitched irregularly then sometimes completely out. Then I heard weird sounds like chirping and other strange noises in it. Doesn;t turn on any no picture since. I have it unplugged now.

If you are using win 10 force close it twice with the power button , turn it on as soon as it beeps use the power button to switch it off , do this two times , this should bring up the repair windows repair screen and give the option of removing the update .
What is the make and model number for your tv? Is it an lcd flat panel, DLP, or CRT projection TV.

Please try these following steps, they should bring your PS3 back to life :
Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)
Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it and then about 5 seconds later it will beep again. Let go of the power button when you hear this second beep.
Step 3. Wait for your PS3 to start.
This solution basically resets the video output back to standard definition.

I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.
