Jenn Air range cook top and broiler works fine. The baking slowly preheats to around 180 deg but will not get any hotter. The broiler works ok.

I have a GE 24 inch wall oven model number JRS04B0W5BB that when bake is selected the broiler element comes on and then after awhile it looses temp and does not cook anything.

Ovens often use broiler element to preheat, then shut off when set temp is reached. Check fuses for and bake element itself.

Kenmore oven take a long time to heat up, but bakes just fine once it reaches temperature. Is there anything I can do to speed up the heating process?

Start earlier?
>> check all elements for current,
check seals
check temperature calibration (allowed to be 15% ie 180 can be 153 or 207 Celsius!) no wonder Margs' scones cook faster at her house :-)

Model: JDS8850AAS -- Oven won't preheat above 150

Hello,

The problem beleive it or not is that the bake ignitor is weak ,and it is not drawing the proper amprage to open the gas valve. If you have a amp meter access the wires to the bake ignitor(usually behind the storage drawer) and check for 3.3-3.6 amps when oven is set to bake by clamping the meter around ONE wire wire of ignitor make sure only one wire, either one and not both.
if amp draw less than 3.3-3.6 amps replace bake ignitor. I know it seems improbable that if the ignotor comes on that it could be the problem.Professional appliance technicians who would charge a average of $250.00 to repair your oven, have found when the ignitor comes on yet the oven won't heat that a weak ignitor is the cause 100% of the time

Hope this helps

I tried to cook a frozen pizza in my Tappan electric range last night (which required it to be preheated to 400 degrees) and it would not preheat at all, even after about a 3 hour wait. I just turned up...

your looking for part number 67 on that part breakdown
it is the bake element and if you inspect it im sure you will find it cooked or broken
befor you actually order the part take the unit out
unplug it
and inspect your wire connections to both sides of the element
