Hi I can't find anywhere how long to charge my archos key 4gb go mp3 player i just bought ...and it does not say anywhere in the instructions...can you please tell me how long it takes to fully charge before i pull it out of my pc ...it's been charging now for 3hrs..tks Tannis

that happened when i first got my mp4. i just left it on charge for a few hours and eventually it turned on. it should tell you when its fully charged.
theres two ways mine can turn on; (its most likely very different to yours though) theres a little switch on the top of the player and you flick that to the left side. or if its been turned on recently, you can hold the play button. does the instructions say to press the ok button?
Give up mate, This MP3 player is total garbage, many MP3 just wont play and the Archos Service can\'t help. Archos does not provide an firmware update for this device, even if is poorly working. So, this product is useless as the Archos service. Don\'t buy any Archos products or you will regret.
MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format.
You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track. If your archos 605 is in recovery mode I beleave the firmware(software) would need to be reloaded.

Seems you have burned out your charging circuit.This is common on these units & you need to do one of two things,Either send it back to Archos & they will fix FOC if under warranty or buy a external charger which are a bit difficult to get hold of @ the minute.Can get them from Hong Kong - ebay.
