All air handlers calling for cooling, compressor doesn't come on board reading 00 (normal)

trace the wiring of the reversing valve.. its an electromagnetic relay in the middle of a cluster of tubing near the compressor. depending on its normal state when un-powered (normal heat or normal cool) the tech may have simply disconnected the relay (normal cool), or connected it directly to the call-for-cool line (typically yellow) (normal heat) regardless of heating or cooling, the compressor always runs the same direction

Marion, if there was a lightning strike and then a power surge when the power came back ON, I don't doubt what the servicemen had to say. The age of the unit plays no role in it, when something like this happens. Power surges can be killers to electrical appliances. That's why it always wise to turn the unit off during a power outage. Just ask anyone who was in Irene's path a couple of weeks ago. Power went out for days & weeks for some, when it came back ON, electrical appliances were damaged or ruined or started house fires.

sounds as the the compressor gave up the ghost .. Out side fans running? does the compressor run?

Yes, you need a tstat, a contactor, and a transformer.
Contactor runs the fan, transformer sends the low voltage to the tstat. Tstat turns on contactor for fan and compressor for cooling

I could not find a "fault code" list for the LA125HV but for thier Multi Split Units LG lists code CH7 (C7) as "Indoor Unit is Set in Different Cool/Heat Operation Mode." So maybe your air-handler tihinks it's in Heat mode will the compressor is in Cool mode, or vice-versa....

Do you have the model number? This would help find the code

CHECK WIRING MAKING SURE NOTHING FELL OFF BUT IF NOT REPLACE THE MOTOR BEFORE YOU BLOW YOUR COMPRESSOR

Need to have checked out by a diagnostic ac man.

Wireing this type AC with the wrong voltage, will damage more than the circuit boards. I think the installer wil need to be responsible for the damage he created. The factory will also try to get out of the replacement because of the installers lack of know how.
