Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.
First guess. you have a large library and just added something. it is rebuilding its index
Second guess: you have other files than just music on here. it is rebuilding the library and has to scan all the non-mp3 files. Mine takes about 2-5 minutes to boot after adding / removing files
try reseting the device its usualy a small pinhole on the back or side of the device try holding that in for about 10 seconds

also try and go download the drivers for it so that you can try and detect the player. If that does not work try plugging it into someone elses computer and see if it works. That way yo can figure out if it is your computer or the player. Sorry I could not be of more help.
player recieving data from pc, but when instrucing to player tracks DMR ERROR is coming up.
have tried the reset button, possibly have lost the memory flash ?
also have lost the 3 sample songs with player.
