How do i change the film in a F3HP camera? please help me!

Take out the old roll and put in a new one :-)

Basic Operations start on page 6 of the manual you can download from
http://butkus.org/chinon/nikon/nikon_f3/nikon_f3.htm
The illustrated instructions do a much better job of describing the process than I could.

The manual is for the F3, but the only difference between the F3 and the F3HP is the viewfinder. The F3HP allows you to see the entire viewfinder image from an inch from the viewfinder, making it more usable by those who wear glasses.

How do I put the neg and Pos 1.5 batteries in Nikon F3

If you undo the battery cap and pull it out , then hold it under a bright light you will see a picture of the batteries with their orientation depicted on the side of the plastic sleeves that will hold the batteries. Look for the shape of the batteries and make sure you load them in that same orientation.

Once loaded, remember that you need to pull the advance level back about 20 degrees to activate the power and the light meter.

Nikon F3 w/MD4 motor drive...Not working!

Check to see if the manual shutter release (the one that is to the left of the lens when you look at the camera head on) is not cocked and ready. It should have its lever resting against the lens collar. Since this is the manual release of 1/80 second, this can sometimes be the cause of the problem. Also, make sure the shutter speed dial is set to something other than the 80 speed.

Since you can get a reading on the light meter, its likely not a power issue, plus the F3 is capabale of pulling power either from the drive or from the battery compartment.

Sometimes the electronic F3 shutter button can seize due to lack of exercise. The curtains won't need placing unless they are worn, but the switch may need replacing.

Love my F3 but ready to go digital....

Hi!
I think if you want to keep it fun and easy you won't go wrong with a D80. All considered, it's a competent package compatible with the autofocus lenses you may have for your F3. If you can spring for it, a D90 is much more appealing.
As for your F3, I suggest you keep it. There's nothing like the clack of an analog SLR.
Hope this helps!
