Kenmore cleanscape stopped working...changed the filter and pushed reset but still wont turn on

If the bag was really full it could have restricted the airflow and caused it to get too hot and shut off. If it does not have a mechanical reset button it will come back on after it cools down. The filters may need replaced too.

That makes me think that you've tripped a safety switch or have blown a fuse. Have no idea where it would be.... but I would look for a reset button first. Good luck

If you suspect the switch, unplug the unit, wire around the switch, and see if the motor runs.

It sounds like the reset thermal switch has to be reset. Most vacuums have a reset switch on them some were and that is usually by the motor or the very bottom of the machine. If the switch was activated you just need to push it to reset it but there might be more to your problem then you know. The switch might have to be reset because of these problems that need to be handled first or it will happen again. First is the motor might be getting hot caused to pluged air ways, bag to full, hair or something like that wrapped around the spinning brush at the bottom of the machine. You need to make sure the roller on the bottom is not tied up that would over work the machine and cause the switch to come on. Also their are on some machines small air filters for the fine dust see if those are plugged as well these could casue the problems as well. thanks

take the hose off and clean the inside real good chances are its clogged up

The brush roll will only spin when your handle is not in the locked upright position, once the handle goes upright - the brushroll de-activates

with cleaner plugged in and turned on, push the little reset button on the side of the lower base of vac. Remember that the brush will not turn in the upright position. release your handle and you should be in business. hope this helps. please let us know. thanks renevacdoc

try changing the belt

Some of these have a resetable circuit breaker, if it has one, push it. There is a motor on the brush roll which could be bad. There also is an on/off switch, it may have a problem.Also may have a switch where the hose goes into, some models have a actuator for the switch, when the hose is pushed in, it actuates the switch so the brush roll motor turns on and stops when you pull the hose out.

same problem.... roller won't turn, nothing stuck in it.... no solutions?
