Ultimate care II Whirlpool dryer

My electric ultimate care II Whirlpool dryer will blow air but will not heat. The model number is LEQ8000JQ3. I've seen a posting with the same problem for a gas model that mentions it could be a blown thermal fuse. Is this also possible for the electric version?

Thank you for any insight!

I have no heat when the dryer runs. So far I have replaced the the two main fuses and the thermal fuse. What's my next step?

Yes its located on the houseing where the heating element is and is a small round disc with two wires get a putty knife and push in between the top panel and body of the drier about 2-3inches of the edge lifting the top as you do remove the front panel by removing the two 5/16 in screws and pull the panel the locate the heating coil and check the thermal limiter

Whirlpool LEQ7030K90 Electric Dryer (ultimate care ii) 2001 model emits a buzzing sound when the start button is pressed. Unit will not heat or turn the drum.

CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR THERMAL FUSE IS OPEN(BLOWN) IT SHOULD BE LOCATED ON THE BLOWER HOUSING. GO TO www.repairclinic.com and look for part number 2986 after you enter your model number. If it is bad you also should replace the high-limit cut-off fuse located closest to heat element.

No heat electric Whirlpool Ultimate Care II

The following link will give you some advice on a dryer no heat problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r630242-dryer_runs_but_not_heat

Pay particular attention to the paragraph that discusses proper ventilation. Most dryer heat related problems are caused by poor air flow. I know you mentioned cleaning out the vents, but did you ensure the ducting is clear all the way the where it exits your home? Have you also verified there are no kinks or excessive bends that may restrict air flow? Just some addtional things to consider...

If you have good strong air flow, but no heat, you probably have a failed internal component. If you will post back with your complete model number (located around the door opening on most models) I can determine how your dryer is contructed and let you know how to identify the internal components. Please let me know. I hope you find this helpful.

ELCTRIC DRYER NO HEAT JUST COLD AIR

There is a thermal fuse its location depends on the dryer if the filter is on the top then you have to take off the back panel and check the white fuse. If the filter is inside the dryer you have to take off the bottom panel. a flathead screw driver for the 2 clips the check the white fuse behind the lint trap (where the filter goes).

Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II: No heat

didc, on a gas dryer, if the thermal fuse blows it will still rotate, but will not heat. Since this is a gas dryer, see if the ignitor is glowing. If it is, then you know the thermal fuse is good. If not, the thermal fuse may be blown or the ignitor itself and thus the reason for no heat. Catriver.7152136.jpg
