A relative gave me her old Harman Kardon speaker system for my iMac. I guess it was manufactured at least 5 years ago. There is no manual. The speakers are round and transparent and 4 inches in diameter. They have the name Pro Speakers model number M6531. There is a plug from the speakers that overall is about three-quarters of an inch long. The metal part is only about a quarter of an inch long and about a tenth of an inch wide. I have assumed this should plug into the sub-woofer but see nowhere to plug it in. The sub-woofer is circular and transparent about 10 inches high and 8 inches in diameter. I have an old Altec computer speaker system that plugs the speakers into the sub-woofer and I assumed the same would be the case for the Harman Kardon. I will appreciate your help. Thanks. John
The so called power contacts on the m6531 ar actually the device id rom and nothing more.power is via a 18w digital amp internaly on sound card
I believe that plug is special because it feeds not only audio signal but also voltage to power the speakers. so unless u know that the speakers will get power from the plug, it will probably not work

I have the harmon kardon sound sticks. I bought them for my imac. it worked great. I moved and when I unpacked the speakers and hooked them up they dont work. I am not sure if i am missing a plug. there are two wired coming out of the main unit where the two wired from the sticks which connect to these two wires. there is a wire that connects to the imac. still nothing. there seems to be a place for another connection to the main speaker unit but i dont have any wires. can any one help me out to get this to work. thank you
