You need to verify that you still have hot water. Sounds like you're running out.

You have a bad "dip tube" or one of your elements is bad. If it's an electric WH.

Dip Tube delivers cold water to the bottom of the WH tank as you use the hot water from the top the cold flows into the lower part of the tank via the dip tube if its broken the cold water mixes w/ the hot turning the hot into warm then cold in about the first 7-10 mins of use. The dip tube is on the COLD side remove the nipple (pipe) on the cold side and pull the dip tube out.Cut the new one at about 8" from the bottom of the tank and reinstall.

When set on delicate cold/cold water, it starts to fill with cold but switches to hot water after a few seconds

Sounds like you've got the hoses switched, and the cold water you're feeling is just what is in the hot water lines until the lines get purged. Try filling on the hot setting and see if cold or hot comes out; my guess is you'll get cold water on the hot setting.

Turned on whirlpool duet washer, came back to FH as realized forgot to turn water on. Have tried all the suggestions, but each time I plug the machine it tries to drain water and the motor hums. I cannot...

Make sure both hot and cold water supplies are turned on. Select a cold wash cycle and start the wash cycle, do you get cold water? Now select a hot wash cycle and start the wash cycle, do you get hot water? If you only get cold water replace the hot water fill valve. If you only get hot water replace the cold water fill valve. If you get neither replace both fill valves.

My Bristan Meridian Show start ok with hot water then after a few minutes the water runs cold. Even if you try and increase the temp it still remains cold. You can switch of the shower and start again...

It sounds like 1 of 2 things to me. I will start wit hot water heater. The first test for the water heater is to have someone run the hot water while you hold the hot and cold pipes and see if the water is coming out of the water heater cold when the shower goes cold. Of the water heater is cold coming out then the problem is in the heater. ether a lower element is bad or the dip tube is broken at the top of the tank. if the hot water heater continues to put out hot water when the shower goes cold then it has to be the mixing valve for the hot and cold mix at the shower and that valve will have to be repaired or replaced. hope this gives you a good start. let me know if I can help further.

The washer is set on cold/cold. The hot water faucet is turned off. The washer should not be asking for hot water because it is set to cold/cold. It asks for and received cold water. At some point...

Newer machines know the water temperature. It will mix hot water even on a cold setting if the incoming water is too cold. Detergents need a temperature of at least 60 to activate. This will only happen in the winter usually.

Hot water goes into cold water washes

It is normal for the machine to cycle between hot and cold water when filling even if selecting a cold cycle. The reason for this is because even a cold cycle requires the water temperature to be 78F for the soap to break up efficiently.

During the cold months the water in your pipes is probably less than 78F so the machine will need to add some hot water to bring it up to this temperature. Basically, it is adding cold and then hot water to maintain a temperature in the tub of 78F for cold water cycles.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

No hot water

If you are satisfied that the hot water supply is o/k, then you need a new hot valve fitting.
Plz leave feedback.
Thanks.
