I need to set the ringers to only ring at the two receptionist desks and not everyone else's offices. Please help! We have Avaya Partner 18D phones.

models referred to as 18D... but when I was associated... they WELCOMED CUSTOMER CONTACT opportunities in the
continental U.S. ... call their toll-free Heipline,
available 24 hours a day, at 1 800 628-2888.


You should first check your owners manual...

The most likely cause:
is the "DND" (do not disturb) Feature is "ON".

I would check the called extensions ringing pattern and see if it is set to delayed or no ring.

Hi once the call is ringing in its hunt group at another extension there is no other way to retrieve that call , as the call already has visited your extension and is now on its way to another extension

At that phone, press feature 11, XX, XX

Where the XX's are is that extension number. So if it was extension 12:

Try hitting the speaker button and intercom your boss. When you hit the speaker button to hang up, do you get the same thing? If not. It could be that the gray "clicker" switch that pushes down when you put the handset back isnt going all the way back down...

Are you trying to change if it rings or how it sounds when it rings?

The phone you have (Partner 18D) can be used on several different Avaya phone systems that all program differently. To change when it rings, this would need to done in the system programming (not the phone) All the manuals are avaialble on Avaya's web site but you need to know which system you have before you can start searching. www.avaya.com
