Normal 0 First, If you have your speakers turned up to high it will give you feedback causing distortion and static. I recommend using a headset when videoing.
Second reason is, if you are using a laptop and have added an external microphone between the two it will cause distortion and static.
Not knowing the configuration of your computer makes it harder to analyze the problem.
So hope this is of some help. Bud

I can hear other people, but they can not hear me. Worked before?

go to the sound icon on the lower right of your screen and make sure the mic is not muted... you may have to look in the menu for additional controls.

Microphone within webcam crackles

If you have another Mic I would use that. Otherwise I don't know how to solve this, check out this page though http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921334

Under cause there is something about disturbances by monitor, router, televesions and speakers. Try getting your camera away from other things and see if the audio straightens out.

Mic noise

Hi manolopzo,

there is some pormenors that we can't never forget: see the record level of your mic and the distance between the mic and the speakers. if the distance is litle and the record level is high, you'll always have that feedback sound.
