Hello. According to Gerber Blades, the correct way to remove and replace the battery would be to unscrew the end cap all the way. The battery will then fall away allowing for a new battery insertion. Hope this helps.

Not sure which bit to unscrew when trying change battery in onyx50

The flashlight uses 1 AA battery. My guess, you should only have to unscrew the end cap. If you finds it very hard to unscrew the end cap off, it could be from the battery has explode and swollen. MAYBE - I see this happen in my daughters MAG flashlight. DO not keep your flashlight in the car with the batteries installed. The amount of heat in the cars can ruin the batteries in the flashlight.

I accidentally drop my gerber firecracker flashlight, when I turn it on its not working any more. How can I detach the crown from bulb to fix the problem. Thanks for the help.

Hi I had the same problem. It seems that when I dropped it the back buttton got stucked, so what I did was to unscrew the back part (as if to replace the battery) and gave it kind of gave it a knock or hit it softly just to jiggle the button. Scre it back on and got it to work, Hope it works for you.

Broke my gerber 3.0 flashlight

Wow what entertainment. Both the poster and the bobint17 don't have a clue how this flashlight works... why answer a question you don't know the answer too? To screw with people? To sound like you know what you're doing?

Anyway, the Gerber TX 3.0 uses a Luxeon 3 LED. There is no bulb. It is not designed as a user replaceable item and unfortunately even someone skilled at soldering and such can't fix the light because the head is permanently attached and not designed to be removed allowing access to the LED assembly. Can the head be removed? Possibly. Will it damage something while trying to remove it with a lot of force? Possibly. Should you try? No. Why? Because the light has a limited lifetime warranty from Gerber. Send it to them and they will fix or replace it!!!
