HP OFFICEJET 5610V No scan options

I have the HP Office jet 5610v all- in- one hooked up to my Mac. All functions worked fine on a previous Dell computer I had it hooked to. Now it won't scan. The printer works fine, the fax works fine but I get an error when trying to scan " No Scan Options refer to device documentations" What could be the problem?

If you get the error while trying to scan with your HP 5610v All-In-One, the easy way to scan from your printer is to click on start, go to Paint and then File, the option "From Scanner or Camera" will come up.. click there and poof - you can scan anything you want and save it where you want... Problem solved!! good luck!!!

This issue when we try to scan from the all-in-one, once try to scan from the all-in-one software, make sure that the software is inatlled properly because we can scan from the all-in-one only when the full feature software is installed in the computer. If we are able to scan properly from the computer then check whether digital imaging monitor is running or not in the taskbar. If it is not running reinstall the all-in-one software.

Hp officejet 5610v all in one insallation software for windows vista

Try this link. It is the full intall file for the all in one being run on a Vista Machine. It worked fine for my installation.

Muck around on the site for a bit, and you can also find the same install file for Windows XP.

Good Luck

No scan options- HP Office jet 5610v

Ok - the reason this error pops up is because there is a software issue going on. If the software is correctly installed you will see options for where the scan will go in the computer.

Having said that there are several things that can cause a problem between the printer and the software;

1) You are connecting the printer by USB to router - you may print but will never be able to scan as this is not a networkable printer. Connect it directly to your computer and recomplete the setup portion to configure the scanner.

2) You have not finished the setup. At the end of the installer you can setup the scanner but if you skipped this step you will have to redo it in order for it to connect. Click on the device manager in your dock and then next to information and settings there will be a little wheel. Click on the wheel and go to setup assistant. Complete the assistant and try to scan.

3) The printer is not grabbing the new software options - leave the printer turned on but unplug the power cord and wait for 30 seconds. Plug printer back in - when you do this it should initialize and will look to the mac for changes and the options should load.

4) Software missing - You MUST have the software for the printer installed for scanning function. Adobe and other programs cannot replace it - it has to be installed.

5) Software is corrupted. Uninstall the software (uninstaller is under applications in the HP folder) and then download and install the most recent full feature software and drivers for your operating system.

6) If all these steps fail you may have an issue with your computer and it's TWAIN drivers.

HP OFFICEJET 5610V No scan options

No scan options occur if the digital imaging monitor is not running on the taskbar of the computer. Once check whether the digital imaging monitor is running or not ans try to scan from the HP Solution center. If you are able to scan from HP Solution center, then search for the file hpqtra08.exe and run it and then try to scan from the all-in-one.
