Color quality

Windows has lost the display driver for your particular card. You will need to determine what the card is (it may say when you first start the machine) and redownload the drivers for it.

My pc dose not come up my maxtor basics external desktop hard drive

What OS are you using? Windows 98SE does not always recognize exterrnal hard drives. Try the external HD on a computer running Windows XP and see if that works. If it works on WinXP and not Win98SE or possibly WinME the External HD is good.

Problem in install winxp

Your upgrade options
If you want to upgrade your system to Windows XP, the first thing you need to do is verify that it meets the system requirements for the newer operating system.
You will need:
  • Windows 98 or later version of Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • At least a 233Mhz processor. Any manufacturer (AMD, Intel, IBM, VIA, etc.) will do.
  • At least 128MB of system memory.
  • 1.5 Gigabytes of free hard drive space (note that you should have at least 3 gigabytes if you want to do any meaningful work with your system after the upgrade).
  • A CD-Rom or CD/RW drive.
  • Mouse and keyboard (either USB or PS/2).
  • A video adaptor and monitor capable of displaying 800x600 resolution. If you are not sure about this, change the resolution within Windows 98 by right clicking on an empty area of the desktop and selecting 'properties' then going to the 'settings' tab. The resolution slider is at the bottom left. Set it to '800x600' and click 'apply.' If your screen is still legible, you are fine. If the 800x600 option is unavailable, you may need to upgrade your video adaptor before upgrading Windows.
Note that if the screen becomes scrambled, blank or unreadable, you will probably need a new monitor as your current one cannot handle the required resolution. If your system meets the minimum requirements for Windows XP, it's time to find out which version of the operating system you can upgrade to.

This is Microsofts recommendations

Lite on ltc48161H

You should re-install the winxp again. For doing it without losing any existing data, do it as per the following instructions: - Boot your computer using the XP CD. You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive. When you see the welcom setup screen, chose the "To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER" option. DO not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R" !!!! Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair. Setup will copy files to the hard drive will reboot tour computer and will start winxp installation. Good luck !

Poor image quality

hotoPC 650 captures images in 24-bit color (16.7 million colors). Your pictures will not display maximum image quality if your monitor or computer's video controller doesn't support this color depth. Additionally, if your pictures are taken in 1154 x 864 mode, try increasing your video resolution above 640 x 480. You may need to upgrade your system to achieve the best possible image quality. If your pictures look better on the screen than when you print them out, you may need to upgrade your printer. An EPSON Stylus ink jet printer, for example, provides excellent image quality. If you used drag and drop to insert your pictures, they may appear grainy. Try importing them into your documents instead.
