Is the noise like a stone stuck in the tyre? If so, I think you have a dry axle, a common problem with Pride scooters and easily rectified. Simply remove the rear wheels, apply grease to the axle shafts, and re-fit the wheels. This should solve your problem. If it's a different type of noise, the problem may lie within the transaxle which would unfortunately involve a costly repair or most likely a replacement transaxle.

Pride Jazzy 1450 wheel makes clicking/ticking noise

OP writes that the fix is this.

I fixed this problem; I pulled the wheel and removed the axle nut and sprayed penetrating lube around the axle and put it back together- problem fixed... I also took the rim apart and sprayed rust preventive on the inside of both wheel halves because water can get in there from washing the dog stuff off the wheels (yeah you know). I wanted to pull the hub and have a look but it must take a puller because tapping on it with a brass hammer did nothing. So make sure the axle nut is tight...

Diff always a grinding noise and there is end play with the axle 2004 ford ba falcon wagon

When you say end play on the axle, how do you mean? Have you jacked the car in the air and grabbed the wheel top to bottom and side to side and felt for play in the wheel? If you did and it has play, I'd say you're looking at replacing wheel bearings and not a trans (Diff) problem.

1994 Land Rover Discovery Manual has a grinding and clunking noise from rear, right side

A grinding noise suggests a bearing at fault or perhaps worn pads on the brake rotor.

However, the clunking noise you mention could also point to a problem with the drive shaft or differential.

The first thing you should do is to get under the vehicle and try twisting the propshaft back and forth. If there's any movement this points towards a worn universal joint on the propshaft. A worn universal joint can cause a clunking noise - particularly when pulling away. The vibration caused by a worn universal joint can also damage bearings in the differential and also to the splined ends of the axle shaft.

You're also going to have to remove the wheel from where the noise comes from and examine the end of the axle shaft/bearing.

98 chevy cavalier manual transmission took it to the dealership and they said I needed a new half axle left side. Took the old one out and then put the new one in and put everything back on and when I put...

Make sure the axle was installed correctly. If you didn't push the axle all the way in it's possible that it's not engaging properly in the splines causing your noise. Am I correct in assuming noise wasn't there before and started after replacing the axle? If yes I would start there. Make sure both inboard and outboard joints are all the way into the transaxle and the hub. Also make sure you torque the nut.

Grinding on the axle

A clicking noise when making sharp turns, such as when backing up or turning through an intersection? CV joint. Look at the axle on the noisy side and there'll be a couple boots. One may be torn. Dirt and water get in there and wash out the grease and wreck the joint. Best place to start.

I have bad road noise after 40 mph. This started after changed tires and both front boots and axles

to possible answers
the axles are new and the cv joints mat be firm resulting in noise transmission through failing engine mounts ( unlikely but possible )
the tread pattern may be the cause of the noise especially if the tyre pressure is incorrect
Take it back to the shop and take them for a road test to see if they can find the reason
when drive axles have to replaced , it generally means that the front lower arms have to be disconnected so a wheel alignment may also be in order

Hear a clicking noise when backing up and forward

if you hear that clicking noise whether going forward or backward,,it's most likely a bad cv joint on your axle going bad,,or bad. you'll need to replace the axle it's coming from. just have someone listen to the noise while you're going forward or backwards while turning the wheel in motion to determine which axle is bad! hope this helps!!
