STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} 0xc0000034 0x00000000 0x00000000 HELP?!

This is not an easy one to deal with if you don't have some things like a boot disk. The error is most likely caused by something that was installed or restored wrong. The best windows option is to use F8 and select last known good config. Then if it starts you can uninstall any software that you added just before this error..IF you cannot do that then you need to be able to boot to a separated disk and use file utilities to remove any programs that might be causing this.

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}

This article is intended for advanced computer users. If you are not comfortable with advanced troubleshooting, you might want to ask someone for help or contact Technical Support.

When you use a server or a workstation that is running one of the operating systems that is listed in the "Applies to" section, you may receive the following error message: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 0x0000000)
The system has been shutdown. Note The parameters in parentheses are specific to your computer configuration and may be different for each occurrence.

CAUSE:

The STOP 0xC000021A error occurs when either Winlogon.exe or Csrss.exe fails. When the Windows NT kernel detects that either of these processes has stopped, it stops the system and raises the STOP 0xC000021A error. This error may have several causes. Among them are the following:
  • Mismatched system files have been installed.
  • A Service Pack installation has failed.
  • A backup program that is used to restore a hard disk did not correctly restore files that may have been in use.
  • An incompatible third-party program has been installed.
Resolution will not fit here so kindly go to:

I hope it helped you. Rate for this information will greatly be appreciated. Thank you!

Stop: c000021a (Fatal System Error) when i shut down my computer so i cant even do a system restore because i have to press the off button on the computer when the blue screen comes up, so the restore...

This error is caused by a failure in Winlogon.exe or Csrss.exe, which are system critical files.

Thequickest way to repair this error is to boot from your Windows XP CD orthe Recovery CD that came with your PC, and to choose the option to"Repair" Windows.

DO NOT choose to reinstall windows, or you'll lose all of the data on your hard drive.

If you would like to go a more complicated route and you know a bit about computers, you can follow the steps here:

I hope this is helpful. If not, please let me know.

Dell inspiron 1525 laptop

Get a bootable Install CD for whatever version of Windows and re-install windows from the CD drive. (Windows XP Home I imagine). If the laptop won;t boot from a CD you can alter the BIOS settings to allow it. If you don;t care about your documents, do a DESTRUCTIVE install which will wipe your Hard Disk.  Beware if you do a non-destructive install  that if your problems originated from a virus it could still be on your Hard Disk. If you need help with getting the BIOS  settings changed lemme know.

Rebooting when try shutdown

It seems that some minor windows files are corrupted, you needed to insert the Windows XP CD and try to fix the files by re-installing the system... this will restore the corrupted files.

Good luck.
