Reset the answering machine without the manual

TRy removing the DC power to the answering machine and re connect DC and power it back on. I am assuming it says no messages but tells callers memory is full.

There's not enough information to give a decent answer. You may have a a hardware failure, or the machine may need a cold reset, ie, having its battery removed, but, most tablets don't have a removable battery. Refer to its manual. Without instructions, my best guess is to leave it off the charger for days, long enough for the battery to completely discharge. Then power up and see what you get. Use another device to download and read the manual if you don't have it already.

Hi there, without some details of the make and model of your machine I can't tell you what buttons to press to perform a reset of the machine, however, this is a common problem, often associated with a momentary power failure when the controller doesn't get time to reset and return to an idle state before the machine gets power back and it gets "confused". Regardless of the cause, you will almost certainly find that unplugging from the mains (Not just powering off on the button, as some door locks have a sneak circuit, even when the power is turned off at the button) and leaving the machine undisturbed for a full 20 minutes will allow a reset, the door lock will disengage and all will be well when you power back up. Additionally, on older machines with analog program selectors, turn the selector to an end of program setting before you power it off.

"The answering machine is off. Please leave a message" (sic) This doesn't make sense.... how can one leave a message if the answering machine is OFF! Unless it goes to a voicemail etc? It's just not possible?

I suggest that you use your manual, and reset up your system again, perform a Factory Reset and then set up what you need to do again, this will clear any erroneous data that maybe causing any problems.

Whats seems to be happening is that the default "Voice" is being activated instead of the recorded message? I think you need to do it again.

After you have done this, record your message and set the answering machine to ON. Then test it from another phone.

NOTE sometimes with answering machines, if they ring more than a certain number of times, without being answered, the AP may switch OFF, ON or indeed do "Other" functions" that may be assigned, so ensure that this "Feature' isn't active or enabled or whatever.

The model is KX-TGA101CS. The answer light start to blink quickly when I try to record a message directly on the base. Then I need to disconnect the power cord to reset. If I try by the handset, I don't have the access by the menu.

Have all employees delete all messages from all mailboxes.

On base station: menu>base setup>ok>edit voice mail>ok>

then enter number to access voice mail for your service provider. I have Grande phone service so I entered *78. Press ok then exit.

I don't have the built in answering service so I was trying to access my Grande voice mail, but when I pressed the message button, it asked me to enter my Earth Link password. We haven't used Earth Link for a couple of years. This fixed the problem. I just had to mess with it some to figure it out. The blinking light on the handset next to my bed was driving me crazy so I had to figure it out!

Power Failure Recovery

If the system is disconnected from the AC power it will not operate. Your announcemen and messages are retained in memory during a power failure but you will need to reset the clock.
