If it is a new handset under 12 months, then the warranty should cover such problem.
But before assuming that it is a faulty unit, make sure that your hand set 'Keypad lock' feature has not been engaged: check your user manual but pressing the (-) key would normally unlock your keypad.
If you cannot find your user manual, you could also ask the shop where you bought the phone for assistance on how to unlock your Keypad.
Hope the information is useful: let me know how you go!
Hope it helps.
I checked the manual and i tried uocking the keypad, but none of the buttons work. I pulled out the battery, and the water damage sticker was pink. Will the warranty still cover this.?
Also, the slide-out keyboard somehow got loose and it slides open when turned on it's side. Is there any way to fix this or should I just send it in to see if they'll replace it.?
With this new information, I can state that Water damage will definitely not be covered my the manufacturer warranty or the reseller! I would request several 'free' quotes (always ask if quotes are free...) from several mobile phone repair shops but it maybe cheaper to buy a new unit or maybe try to get it replaced under your house/property 'accidental' damage policy.
If there were no water damage, I could just take it in and get it replaced.?
If I buy a new battery will they replace the phone.?
You might be lucky but I would doubt if they will replace your handset since it appears that you have some physical damage (e.g. the slide out keyboard) unless your mobile plan includes an accidental damage insurance clause.
In my opinion, buying a new battery will do very little towards getting a replacement handset: you got nothing to loose in taking the handset back to the shop where you bought it and asking them hwo they can help you!
Okay. Thank youu.! (:
