Please confirm tv model number as question shows its Mitsubishi WS-55511 rear projection tv.
This info will help me to suggest a solution.
Do you get correct colors in picture though its over size?

No,need to diagnose.It a 100% convergence problems.Convergence problems very easy diagnose.The picture look like 3D,colors lines don't lines up.Fuzzy,out of focus.Convergence controls don't work to lines up any colors cross.The tech is cheating u if he said cost $125 to diagnose.If u know how to solders u could fix this convergence problems about $100.U can buy a convergence kit at Websites Tv repair World.com,Tvrepairkits.com.The shop everythings fix parts and labors only $300.

I plugged my Dell desk top in and the XP screen comes up, but when windows comes on I getablue screen. Any ideas?

These don't use bulbs to my knowledge,they have 3 different picture tubes in them.

I would look for what's called a pico fuse around the transformer. If they open that would cause no power,and no picture. Usually though, if this is the heavy 3 picture tube projection that I believe it is,then I would suspect the IC Chips which are video amps and have 40-60 legs on a single chip.

No input on a WS-55511 is capable of 720p . Inputs COMP1 and COMP2 ONLY accept 480i/480p . Input DTV accepts 480i/p and 1080i . When using Input DTV with a component connection(YPbPr) and you get a green or no picture then you will need to navigate the menus and setup input DTV for YPbPr instead of RGB.

Hi,it sounds like a light engine problem.Lcd Technology uses 3 chips blue,green and red that create the image ,when they start to fail color discoloration will occur.If it's an Dlp pay attention to sounds of buzzing,whirling and high pitch sounds because it could be your colro wheel.

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

do you see any red at all when you co to the convergence screen? if not, then the red CRT has died and needs to be replaced.

looks like the t-con board failing, or a lose connection to the t-con or screen ribbons off the t-con board to the screen.
its fitted to the screen back under the shield will look similar to this.
