My archos 5 is less the 2 years old . Its used little and not abusef. Went to turn it on, it functions ok but begins to make a loud whirring /buzzing noise that is loud. Its not the speaker. When you shut the unit down , the noise gradually slows down and stops.

Sounds like a leaky capacitor, probably capacitor will need to be replaced or if you're not good at soldering the board where the capacitor is faulty.

Wine Enthusiast Silent Wine Refrigerator is making a loud buzzing/whirring noise.

Since this unit doesn't use a compressor, the only moving parts are the whisper fans inside of it that circulate the air. One of those fans may be going bad. If you are handy you can remove the back to see if all the fans are working but your best bet is to use the one year warranty and have a qualified techncian figure it out.

Loud Fan and Slight Overheating

most likely sounds like your hard drive. Mine did the same thing starting that loud whirring noise and overheating a lot. i took it into geek squad at best buy and it cost 199.99 for the diagnosis of the problem and the repair ( if you want just a diagnosis its 69.99) and then had to buy a hard drive ( i went for the 320 GB for 109.99) and they installed it for free same day in and out. took the whole process about 5 hours on a friday afternoon.

Makes a loud buzzing noise and does not get hot

Have seen this many times.

Sounds like a bad CAP since a bad diode would blow the fuse and a bad mag would likely do the same thing.

Since yours is making the loud 60hz buzz you need to replace the capacator that will likely fix the problem. A $10 fix

Microwave Buzzing When Not in Use

Are you using a 3 pronged outlet and is it grounded? If you have a 2 holed outlet and are using a ground eliminator adapter, try turning the plug around to reverse the polarity. If this helps, then it would be advisable to have an electrician to ground your oven.

ARB2214CB - Condensor is Noisy

It sounds as if the thermal limit on the compressor is cutting off power to the compressor when it gets too hot. There could be 3 reasons for this. One, the compressor is just bad...should be covered under the 5 year sealed sytem warranty (if its less than 5 years old of course) if this is the case. Two, the thermal overload and start relay assembly is bad. They are mounted directly to the compressor (big round black thing) and can be changed for about$14 in parts (unplug the unit before replacing!) Three, the fan that runs in the bottom near the compressor that cools the compressor and condenser is jammed or not rotating for some reason. It should run any time the the compressor is running. If it doesnt, it need replaced or the compressor will do exactly what you are describing. Hope this helps!
