Everything has a green tint when upgraded to HD 1080.

I have a 5 year old Mitsubishi WS-55411 Projection TV. The color is fine with standard 480i input w/component cable. When I switch to 1080i and add my RGB cable and red&white audio from my HD Satelite reciever to the DTV plugs on the back panel, everything looks green. Is there an adjustment or am I connecting to the wrong jacks?

Mitsubishi WS-65907 rear projection TV HD goes blue.

I would look at the source for the Hd signal as being the problem--if you are using some kind of cable or sat box it will deliver the signal to the DTV input on the back of the set--this is the HD input for this set.

It is possible to have a problem like you describe be one in the set--but very unlikely----have you looked on that green signal board for any signs of Glycol?

Anything that will produce a 1080 signal to the DTV input should tell you if the problem is the set or the source of the HD signal that is causing the problem.

Mitsubishi WS-65315 plug in HD comp shows as 480i

Greetings,

In the input assignment menu make sure that the DTV (the only 1080 input on this tv) is set to Y/Pb/Pr and see if that fixes your issue with at least the HD-DVR.

BTW- the HDMI information "1080i HD can only be selected if TV has HDMI inputs". is not correct.

Upgrading my 480 component input to 1080

Get an upconverting DVDP that puts out 1080i on component. They were made several years ago, and today it can't be done without HDMI, which your set is too old for.

Momitsu, Bravo, Lite0n made them, with the Samsung 841 hackable for that purpose. Try to find one used, and be sure to ask whether they upconvert SD - standard - DVDs from 480i->1080i before you buy. Then take that 1080i in via component, which is stellar in its performance and has none of the anomalies that are plaguing HDMI on many brands of CRT units.
