In order to connect to the Internet, you need the following things:

- an Internet service provider (ISP)
- a network interface card (NIC) or modem
- a cable to connect from the NIC or modem to the jack in the wall where your Internet service comes in

Do you have all of these three things? What type of Internet service do you have? (ie. cable, dial-up, DSL, etc.)

Installing NIC card to dell optiplex gx100

NICs usually come in PCI interfaces. motherboards have usually four PCI slots to hold many devices such as NIC. just slide the card and fit it into the PCI slot. It could take any of the slots where it fits. the OS will detect it and loads the necessary drivers.

Dell OptiPlex GX100 doesn't have a usb printer port

This is no problem the only trick is to load the drivers, the disc that came with the printer first. Then click on start>printers>add printer and you will be able to see it.
