I purchased a Sony EX400 from S'pore. Presently using it in India. Of late it stopped working and the red lighting started blinking. 7 times after a small interval. What may be the problem. Approx. howmuch i have to spend as it doesnt carry indian warranty. hari, Hyd

The Blinking red light. suggests logical errors detected b the main board. e.g TMDS/LVDS cable being faulty. Inverter not responding etc. the cable will be the likely culprit.

It is a problem in the power supply of the set and when it blinks red (fails) count the blinks to see if they are in a specific sequence (7 blinks, pause etc.)

reconnect the cable that goes from main board to tcon.. if this dose not work out change the tcon board which is cheap arond 25 US dollors..

You need to replace your bulb. Order a replacement online---it's easy to swap and the instructions are in your manual. If you purchase one from a local dealer you will pay over $150 more!!!

Missing Green colour on 36" Sony FD Trinitron WEGA

This is not a problem that a reset will fix. THe 5 blinks is a code that indicates a problem with the AKB circuit. There is a possibility that the picture tube is starting to fail, but that is rare. If you are comfortable working inside the set where there are potentially dangerous high voltages even when unplugged, let me know and I will provide additional details and instructions for a couple of repair options.
