i cannot run diagnostic since "Control On" green button will not even come on. the system is stuck where ONLY the red light for "Control/locked" is on.

my 2 year old son probably pressed all the buttons in some sequence to lock the system. Please start over with the help.

  • richhardh May 29, 2008

pressing all three buttons together did not help. it did bring up the lights for the timer at :50, Heavy Duty light flashing, hot cold light, high and louder. Control/Locked is still on and nothing works

It is recommended to try putting the machine into diagnostic mode. If it won't enter diagnostic mode, then you need to replace the main control board.

DIAGNOSTIC TEST

The washer must be empty and the control must be in the OFF

state before pressing the touch-pad sequence to start the test.

Starting the Test Mode

■ Close the door.

■ Push CONTROL/ON (if present on this model).

■ Select the DRAIN/SPIN cycle.

■ Select NO SPIN by pressing the SPIN SPEED touch-pad.

■ Push PREWASH OPTION four times within five seconds. (If

PREWASH OPTION is not present on this model, press EXTRA

RINSE four times within five seconds.) C:00 will light up on the

display.

If the Starting procedure fails, push the PAUSE/CANCEL touch-pad,

then repeat the starting procedure.

Test Program Control

In order to advance to the next step of the test procedure, push

PREWASH OPTION touch-pad two times. If PREWASH OPTION is not

present on this model, press EXTRA RINSE two times.

Let me know how this goes and whether you need any further help

good luck and please let me know if you have any questions when doing this

If none of the solutions worked, you will probably have to replace the control board..

I have a new Maytag mvwc565fw. The Clean Washer Cycle was interrupted from a power outage and the unit is full of water and the lid is locked (light solidly illuminated). Trying to start any other cycle...

Resolution:If the washer does not accept inputs from the control panel, follow the Hard Reset steps below to reset the control:

Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.

Plug the power cord into the wall outlet or turn the breaker back on and wait 30 seconds.

Press the Pause / Cancel / Stop button twice to clear the display.

Start a short cycle, to check operation of the appliance, by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the appliance starts.

Note: If the Hard Reset does not work, there may be an internal failure with the washer, that requires service.

FRIGIDAIRE FRONT LOAD WASHER WON'T START. DOOR LOCK WILL NOT LOCK. DOOR LOCK LIGHT IS OFF. PULL START HANDLE OUT/ NOTHING. HEAR CLICKING WHEN TURNING SELECTOR SWITCH/BUT WILL NOT LOCK DOOR OR TURN LIGHT ON...

Good Morning REDS, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand that your door indicates it is open and your washer will not operate. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn on the washer. Select a normal cycle, confirmed the latched is securely latched and verify if the washer will start. If the washer will not operate then it possibly have a faulty door lock assembly or a communication problem with the control board. At this point, it would be advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further.

Control Locked

Locking controls
The Control Lock prevents unintended use of the washer. You
can also use the control lock feature to prevent unintended cycle
or option changes during a cycle. When CONTROL LOCKED is
lit, all buttons are disabled. You can lock the washer while it is
operating.

To lock the controls
Select and hold END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds.
The CONTROL LOCKED status light glows.

To unlock the controls
Select and hold END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds until the CONTROL LOCKED Status light turns off.

Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer Won't Turn On

MY WASHER WAS DOING BASICALLY THE SAME THING. I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL FRONT LOADER MODEL #GHW9460PL0. MY HUBBY REMOVED THE 3 SCREWS FROM THE BACK OF THE WASHER, UNPLUG IT FIRST, AND TOOK THE TOP OFF. WE THEN CAREFULLY UNPLUG THE WIRES AND REPLUGGED THEM BACK IN 1 BY 1 SO U WONT GET THEM MIXED UP. WE THEN TRYED IT, AND THE CONTROL LOCKED LITE STAYED LIT. HE HELD THE SIGNAL CYCLE BUTTON IN FOR 3 SECONDS AND THE LIGHT WENT OUT. WE THEN TRYED RUNNING A CYCLE AND SO FAR SO GOOD!! GOOD LUCK!
