Joy When you plug in the charger the lights on the joystick will scroll because of something called charger inhibit which disables the joystick when charging It is a safety feature. Now when you disconnect the charger turn off the chair and then turn it back on you should then get all the battery lights indicating the charge level If fully charged all the lights will be lit. If after you unplug the charger and you still get the scrolling lights then you have a problem with the charger inhibit function in the joystick and it will have to be replaced. Hope this helps you

My uncle left my hoveround chair out in the rain is this the end of my chair? when i plug in the charger the light on the charger lights up green but the chair wont come on

Angel the charger light should only turn green when the chair is fully charged. If you know the chair isn't fully charged then there is a problem with the charging system. if the circuit board in the joystick got wet then that is a serious problem. If you have a voltmeter you can check the battery voltage thru the charging port located under the front of your joystick Set the meter to 200 volts dc and plug the leads into the 2 outter holes of the charger port. Fully charged you should read 27-30 volts if you aren't getting any reading then the batteries are completly dead or there is a problem with the charging circuit (the reason you are getting a green light on the charger) The joystick will have to be replaced sorry If Medicare paid for your chair then they will pay 80% of the repair costs to get your chair working again If they did contact Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to get it fixed thru Medicare Hope this helps

Do not know if chair is taking a charge lights just keep moving across armrest .how do u tell when fully charged?

hi let me see if i can help ,

When the lights go back and forth on your joystick that means the chair knows its pluged in .Now the chair itself has a built in charger that is mounted on the back of your chair .The back of the chair ,there is a opening a cutout in the frame .when you plug in your chair there will be a red light and a yellow ,yellow means the chair is charging, wait till it turns green, this means fully charged. When you plug in the chair youll see the lights through that hole.Look for the lights.

I recommend my customers to leave there chair charging over night look at the light it will be green when you turn the chair on the joystick should show fully charge.

Good luck hope i was of some help.

When I plug it in to charge the red and amber lights stay lit and the green flashes and if i move the joystick everything is backwards push forward goes backwards left is right. b4 when it was plugged in...

sounds like a charger inhibit problem. Whenever you charge your chair the charger inhibit shuts down the chair so it can't be moved while charging. If you are getting this then that function is not working. Lets try this if you know of someone who has a chair or scooter with an off-board charger see if you can borrow it. Plug the off-board charger into the charger port located under the front of the joystick (don't have the on-board charger plugged in) and then turn the charger on. turn the chair's power on and you hopefully will see the lights blinking again indicating a charger plugged in (charger inhibit) the lights on the charger should be red and yellow (yellow turning green when fully charged) If you still get the problem with the off-board charger then your problem is in the controller or power module and this requires a new one. If Medicare paid for your chair you can call Repair Xpress @ 1-877-81-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to have them fix it for you and bill Medicare for most of the repair costs. Hope this helps you

I've been charhing the battery for 48 hours and no charge! any answers?

Kw How old are the batteries and have they been sitting up for a long time? If this is the case the charger cannot pick up really low batteries and charging them for 48 hours won't help. Unfortunately you have to get 2 new batteries. Your chair requires 2 U1 batteries. Now if the batteries are fairly new and when you plug the charger into the joystick you should be getting a red light and a yellow light on the charger. When fully charged the yellow light turns green. If you have both lights and it never turns green bad batteries if no lights or just the power light bad charger, If you have a digital voltmeter you can set it on 200 volts dc and place the leads in the two outter charger plug holes on the joystick. It should read the battery voltage fully charged 25-27 volts HOPE THIS HELPS

How do I know when the chair has charged? I see one red, two green, two yellow lights on.

If you have an off-board charger that plugs into the joystick there are two lights on the charger one red(power on) and the other yellow (turns green when fully charged). Plug it into the chair and if the light is green then you have fully charged the batteries. Now if you have the on-board charger the charger meter on the rear of the chair will resd zero when fully charged. Hope this helps ya

When turning power it makes a clicking sound but does not power up. battery charger has a red and green light on. When plugged in and turned on it flashes 8 times. I checked the power control connection,...

The chair will not move if the charger is plugged in. The flashes are normal with the charger plugged into the chair. The lights on the charger mean that the batteries have been fully charged. Red and yellow lights mean charging. After you unplug the charger from the chair (if off-baord charger, turn charger off or unplug from the wall) then unplug from joystick. after plug is removed from joystick press the on button and all the battery lights should be lit and when you move the joystick forward you will hear the electric bake release and the chair should move forward etc Hope this helps

With an M51, a full charge will be indicated by all three joystick indicator lights lit- red yellow green. The green far right LED is the full charge light. Also the charger has indicator lights that go from red/yellow to full green at full charge. Hope this helps
