I have a Kenmore 17659 Ultra Wash III and when I run it, the water doesnt appear to be getting into the dishwasher. It turns on and goes thru the cycle but the dishes dont get cleaned.

Make sure your Drain Pipe is properly fixed . any Blockage in the Drain Pipe Creates the above mentioned Problem

i would suspect water mains problem, not enough water getting to the machine sometimes inlet get clogged with lime.adrian,,,,

Does the dishwasher drain the water properly at the end of the rinse cycle. Meaning, is there any leftover water at the bottom of the dishwasher.

Heating element may have burned out. Check water temp during wash--should read between 130 to 140 F.
If not the heating element,you may have to replace pump-motor assembly or wash impeller.

My Kenmore Ultra Wash III won't open the water valve. The pump starts and the heater turns on, but no water. Any ideas?

Fixerfailure, is the knock-out plug still inside if the garbage disposal inlet?

Stick a screwdriver in there to make sure.

spazmo1969, could be the rubber flapper is broken off in the pump discharge outlet.

From the sound of things, your dishwasher drains faster than your sink drain ( via the garbage disposal) can drain it off.. You may have a problem with the way your sink drain/trap is vented and there is too much back pressure to drain down quickly.. When you run water from your sink, does it take a long time to drain down or if you fill your sink up and drain it, does it drain slowly ? That may be your problem.. Hope that helps.

I have a Kenmore 665 about 3 years old
Over the last couple months the touch pads have stopped working and I am now down to one control the water miser!
Do I need a new control pad and is that easy to install ?

I had the same problem finding a Water Tower laying in the bottom of the dishwasher. Solution is to simply lift the bottom rack and insert the tower into the center-most square hole. Twist the tower with the large lip on the bottom of the rack and the two plastic pieces will overlap two sides of the square hole. It will come lose again in time, but just reset it again.
