Tom tom GPS Map Updates

Did you check all the email folders to make sure it was not sent to a spam folder? Did you put in the address right? Tom Tom is good about customer service and if you write an email to them and explain, they will make it right.

You need to go to the tom tom website. You must have registered your tom tom soon after purchase and provided proof that you bought it or they will not honor the updates.

I use a TOM TOM GPS, and they have an online Homepage that you can download any updates. I would imagine yours is the same. Look up the Rand TND520 homepage on the internet and look for a PC setup program. With the Tom Tom, I have to connect it to the PC with a USB cable and it automatically downloads and updates itself.

You may be able to get "free" map updates from (illegal) underground sources. But that's not recommended.
Yes, you're right, you can simply get a new TomTom GPS and get the latest map(s) for it. Consider getting a TomTom with lifetime maps ....and you won't have to pay for any map updates.

You'll only get free updates for a certain period after purchase. Beyond that time, you'll need to buy them.

You can get free shared updates from the users when you install the Tom Tom Home Software, but to update the map with the TomTom approved information, you will have to pay, unfortunately. So far, the people-uploaded maps have helped me immensely, though.

To update maps you should run Tom Tom home on your computer and then connect the GPS

It will then ask you if you want to connect to the computer and you would tell your GPS yes.

Tom Tom home will once it finds your GPS then proceed to do any minor updates.

If your map is out of date it will offer you the option of purchasing a newer version.

don't be tempted to look for free / pirate maps !
These can cause problems in starting up your GPS (believe me)

Tom Tom map prices are not too bad and compared to many GPS are quite easy to install using Tom Tom home.

I have used it before now with few problems.

Couple of times I have had to talk to them but they have always been good and given me a code or new code to get the updates.

I got news for you poor Delphi Nav200 or 300 suckers , I mean customers. There is in fact a map update right now, but guess what. The assholes want $99.00 for it. Go buy a Tom Tom. All updates are free. All the time thru their web site.
