Try resetting the phone (but keep the data and files)
From standby select > Menu > Settings > General Tab > Master Reset > Reset Settings (do not select Reset All or your content will all be deleted), then wiat for propmt and press Continue. You can also remove and reseat the battery afterwards as well.
the phone vibrates then turns off?
there is a battery issue causing the device to powercycle after starting up. the sony ericssons always vibrate when they are turned on.
long story short, replace the battery :(

i think blinking of that red light indicates when ur mobile is running on low battery check ur battery by putting it into another sony ericsson s500i and see if it works
