check that the program is compatible with win xp
win xp has been unsupported for more than 10 years so many programs will not run in that operating system
this is a windows error and for some reason you windows can not run the application properly this is often caused by malware or other viruses getting on to the computer undetected.
my advise is to first make sure that your computer has not got virus malware etc. then if all else fails reload windows.

To find out what version of directx you have installed, go to your Start menu at the bottom left of the desktop, select Run, then type in dxdiag. Answer yes to the prompt, then you will be presented with your directx info.
DirectX 10 is not available for Windows XP, so 9 will have to do.
There are several problems that could be causing your game to crash. Incompatible video card, not enough ram, or a bad installation. Make sure your PC meets all the minimum requirements for the game, then try to uninstall and reinstall the game. If this is still an issue afterwards, either post back here for some more suggestions, or email the game publisher's support contact for assistance.
Okay. Can you verify how much RAM is installed? You will find that info in the system properties (Start/ and right-clicking on My Computer/Properties). The game needs 2 gb of RAM.
